YES I do fall down, YES I am not perfect, Yes I can mess everything up, YES I make mistakes. But you know what? That’s ok! Because that’s all part of being this wonderful and mysterious being called human. I am not a saint, I was not born perfect and I will never be one. I wish I will always keep making mistakes because the most wonderful and insightful moments were the ones I learned from my mistakes. A quote that I love from Neil Gaiman and would like to share with you is the following “I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You are doing things you have never done before, and more importantly, you are doing something. So that is my wish for you, and all of us. And my wish for myself. Make new mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody has ever done before. Do not freeze, do not stop, do not worry that it is not good enough, or it is not perfect, whatever it is. Art or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you are scared of doing, do it. Make your mistakes. Next year and forever and ever”

Sometimes the worst things in life are actually blessings in disguise. Life works in mysterious ways and comes around to teach us great lessons from periods we felt the most unbearable pain. The moments you felt the loneliest, betrayed, helpless, the moments you said you cannot do this anymore. We hit rock bottom and then what? We lift ourselves up and continue fighting. Carry on trying to make things the right way.
A great reminder is that ‘you will be okay’ even when everything is dark and scary, even when there is no more air for you to breathe. Just remember that at the end you will come out of it stronger. Not broken and weak but stronger! Because this is what soldiers do. When they lose their loved ones, when their plans fail and when they are being attacked. They keep going because they need to defend their home and go back safely. The soldier is you fighting for true inner happiness. Life can be a bitch, hard and unbearable sometimes but no matter how difficult it may be to see it, it is the sweetest thing you will ever experience. The sweet life is on the face of your little sister asking you to help her with the homework, on the face of your husband when he says he loves you, the face of your grandma when she looks at your computer like a it’s an alien device. The sweet life is when you look at the beautiful stars at the night sky and smile. Carry on doing life the best way you can you soldier. I salute you!! |
